The VMHC has a collection of more than 9 million items and artifacts. Its website offers research and educational resources. The museum has partnered with other historical organizations, including The John Marshall Historical Collection, The Black History Museum and Cultural Center, The Garden Club of Virginia, The American Civil War Museum, The Reynolds’s Business History Center, and Unknown No Longer, which is a database of unpublished historical records of formerly enslaved Virginians. They also offer items for sale, including books, teas and spices, postcards, holiday ornaments and items of clothing.
